We all got to our seats and settled in. I sat next to Exy.
“You know anywhere in the world I go it only takes me ten minutes,”
“What?! Really? How?? ” I asked. I knew that it was impossible, but was curious to see what he was going to say.
“Guess,” he said coyly.
“Uhh…a transporter?”
“No…”
“A jet plane?”
“No…” he said again secretively.
“Then how?!”
“I’ll show you,” He took out a sleeping mask put it on and said, “It takes me five minutes to fall asleep, and then I wake up for the last five minutes just before we get off!” we both laughed. I liked Exy, he was a funny guy and always made jokes when possible! He had this half joking, half sincere feel to him whenever he spoke. When he spoke to you or asked you a question you were never really sure if he was serious or not!
“Please make sure that all seats are in the upright position and all seat belts are securely fastened,”
The flight was about to take off! I was on my way to Ireland to work on a movie with Jackie Chan! I didn’t know what to expect, but there was this nervous, growing excitement in my stomach as if something great and amazing was about to happen…and it was! The plane slowly started to reverse then turn onto its position on the runway. We began to rumble as the plane gathered speed. The faster and faster we got the more the plane shook until…liftoff! We were airborne! My stomach churned – partially because of the airplane, but mainly because there was no going back now! This was it! The culmination of all my training, all of my aspirations, everything I could’ve ever hoped for was about to come to fruition. I didn’t know what to expect, but I know that this was what I wanted to do more than anything in the world! Ireland, here I come!
